The Midwest AIDS Training + Education Center-Wisconsin (MATEC-WI) provides training, education and technical assistance to health care providers and organizations in Wisconsin who care for individuals with HIV. MATEC-WI is the local partner of the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC) in Wisconsin, and is based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health.
MATEC-WI training activities focus on supporting physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, social workers, and pharmacists, with activities designed for both experienced and newer HIV care providers.
Training formats include workshops, lectures, hands-on supervised clinical training, case conferences, and specialty conferences. Medical faculty provide case consultation in person, via telephone, or by e-mail.
