Program Description
People aging with HIV face unique and intersectional barriers compared to other older adults affecting access to care and care seeking behaviors. Social isolation is a concern for all older adults and particularly for older adults with HIV who might have been disconnected from families, friends, and social networks. This 60-minute webinar will introduce the Geriatric 5Ms framework used to develop a more holistic and comprehensive approach to caring for older adults with a focus on strategies to identify and manage social isolation in older adults with HIV. Participants will learn how social isolation intersects with the five areas of the framework and be introduced to tools to screen and assess social isolation in older adults.
